Are you a Star Wars fan? You most probably are and even if you are not there is no doubt that moving things with the mere power of your mind would be super awesome. Unfortunately (Or fortunately!!) We are not that technologically advanced yet, however, there are things we can control through the motion of our hands and that includes drones. In this article, I will list the best motion controlled drones for sale.
All the drones on this list are suitable for kids, beginners and even more experienced pilots will have fun flying them.
Always remember to read the instruction manual before flying, follow safety guidelines and fly responsibly.
Best Motion Controlled Drones
There is one drone that has motion control features but is not on the list because it is expensive just to purchase for this feature alone. That drone is the DJI Spark, a fantastic little drone that has tons of other features including motion control, however, this list concentrates solely on drones that have motion control as the main selling point and are not very expensive.
This is definitely one of the coolest motion controlled drones (they are all actually cool), what makes this stand out from the rest is the Gesturebotics glove that comes with it. Its simply just a glove made from stretchable fabric but they gave it an awesome name and the small controller that comes with it is what makes motion control possible.
This tech was previously only available to the military but now you can play around with motion control technology with the Aura drone.
The controller fits around your hand and has an automatic take-off and landing button. It also comes with some cool LED lights that change colour with your hand movements and gives you that feeling of having superpowers.
It comes with a protective cage so bumping into stuff or dropping it will cause little to no damage. The Aura drone also comes with a height and distance limiters so that the drone is always under your control and never flies away.
It has a flight time of around 5-7 minutes and a control range of 23 feet, the build of drone means that you should only fly it indoors.
I personally love this drone, it is a lot of fun and despite being targeted for kids, everyone will enjoy flying this drone.
2.GoolRc T100 Mini Drone
This drone doesn’t look as cool as the Aura drone and the actual controller looks like a computer mouse, but it does come with many similar features and it is fun to fly.
The drone has the design of a normal mini quadcopter, it comes with propeller guards and cool LED lights that make it suitable for night time flying.
The controller is designed similar to that of a PC mouse, it fits comfortably in your hands and has a one-key return feature. You can also do some awesome 3D flips in all four directions and control the movement of the drone through hand motion.
It comes with headless mode so you never have to worry about which way the drone is facing and a six-axis gyroscope for extra stability during flight.
It has a flight time of around 5-7 minutes and a control range of 20m, the controller requires 3AAA batteries which is not included.
3.Scoot Motion Mini Drone
This drone is targeted towards kids, but everyone will have fun with this drone. It is different to every drone on this list by the fact that it has no controller.
This motion controlled drone has sensors all around it that senses obstacles and changes direction.
So, you just place your hand near one of its three sensors and it will change direction. Not only does provide lots of fun but it is an added safety feature in that it will never crash thus minimising the risk of the drone being damaged.
It also has a safety cage around it to protect the propellers being damaged or hurting anyone should it crash in them.
Surprisingly the drone has a pretty long flight time for a drone in this class, with one battery charge you can fly it for between 8-12 minutes.
As this is a very light drone, flying it outside is not advised, however, if it’s a clear day with no wind, then it may be alright.
4.Monarch Flame Drone
This may be the most unusually shaped drone on this list, as its name suggests, it is designed in the shape of a Monarch and it has its propellers underneath the wings.
It comes with a one-handed motion controller that allows you to fly the drone through your hand movements.
It can do 3D flips and comes with a headless mode and a 6 axis gyroscope for easier flying. There are LED lights on the front in the shape of eyes and looks cool when flown during night time.
Flight time is around 5-7 minutes and it has a range of around 20m and really should only be flown indoors.
5.Goolsky TB-802 Mini Drone
The Goolsky mini-drone is one of the smallest on this list and probably the cheapest but don’t let that put you off, this is still a fun drone to fly.
The remote control is shaped like a PC mouse and has a finger holder at the top and a couple of buttons on the side.
One is an on-off button and the other has a variety of functions, it can control the height, change directions, do some acrobatic moves and control the speed.
The drones also comes with a headless mode that will make it easy for anyone to fly and has propeller guards to protect it against crashing.
It is super lightweight so flying it outdoors is not recommended, there are some LED lights fitted on its front that will be useful if you want to fly it in the dark.
It has a flight time of around 5-8 minutes and a range of 20m, because of its short flight time, I always advise people to buy some extra batteries because let’s face it 5 minutes will never be enough.
Motion controlled drones are extremely fun to fly and at the moment they are still relatively inexpensive. All of the drones on this list are suitable for kids and beginners but anyone who likes flying drones will have fun with these ones. Since Christmas is coming up, they would make the perfect gift for kids and even adults.
