Hi and welcome to my review of the Simrex X300C a mini drone for kids (although even adults will have fun flying this drone!!) this is great for indoor flying and comes with many fun features.

There are a lot of mini drones on the market, a few of them I have reviewed on this site, a lot of these mini drones come with cool features that make them even more fun to fly.

If you are looking for a nice little drone for your kids (or it might even for you) to fly around the house, carry on reading this review of the Simrex X300C as it may surprise you with the features it comes with.

Simrex X300C Review

The Simrex X300C is a mini foldable drone that comes in different colours, my personal favourite is the red and black version. Its also a super lightweight drone, so this means you will not need to register the drone if you love in the USA, Canada or the USA.

In its expanded form it measures just 11.5*11.5*3.3 cm and its overall build is pretty solid, it’s not of those cheap toys that will easily breakup if you crash it. However, it does come with propeller guards which I highly recommend you attach to the drone to minimise any damage that may occur if you do crash the drone now and then.

The power button is on top of the drone and the battery goes in the back, it’s a small 750 mAh LiPo battery which gives the drone a flight time of around 7-10 minutes, which is pretty much standard for a toy drone.

If you would like to extend your flight time without having to wait for the battery to recharge, I highly advise you to purchase a couple of extra batteries. You can purchase them from Amazon and at the moment, they cost less than $20.

You can fly the drone via the remote controller or your smartphone, if you want to fly the via your smartphone, you will need to download the official Simrex app, which is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

The actual remote controller is pretty nice, it’s small, just like the drone but it is comfortable to hold. It has a smartphone holder the pulls out from the middle and all of the buttons are clearly identified by their labels.

The controller is powered by an internal LiPo battery and has a range of around 30 meters, which is pretty much standard for these types of transmitters.

Simrex X300C Features

simrex x300c review

As you would expect from a toy drone, there are any advanced features but there are some regular ones that will make this drone enjoyable to fly even for adults.

These features include the following:

720p HD camera – Despite this being a very cheap drone (it costs less than $50), it still comes with a decent camera. You can record short videos and take decent still images onto our phone and then share them on social media. Kids will definitely love using the camera as it will help them spy on their siblings or even their parents!!

FPV – Another useful feature of the drone is that you will be able to stream live video footage to your smartphone.

Headless Mode – This is the default flying mode and is the easiest to operate, the controls are straight forward to use as you do not have to know the orientation of the drone (where its head and tail is).

Gravity Sensor Mode – This is a fun feature that anyone will enjoy using, in this mode, you will be able to control the drone by moving either your smartphone or controller.

Other features include one-button take-off/landing, one-button 3D flips and altitude hold. The drone also has three-speed modes which will allow you to test your flying skills at you get more experienced.

Flight Performance

Flying this drone is very easy, it’s a simple drone but is quite fast so I highly recommend you install the propeller guards just in case you crash into things. It’s definitely best to fly this drone indoors but it can be flown outdoors as long as there is no wind.

Final Thoughts

There are a lot of cheap beginner-friendly drones and this is definitely one of the better mini FPV drones on the market. It’s a great drone for kids and they will have a lot of fun flying it, it’s also a great choice for your first drone as you will be able to learn how to fly without having to worry about destroying an expensive toy.
