While there was a marginal increase in the number of blood units used each month after the adoption of drone delivery, there was no statistically significant evidence of a change in the number of blood units received. Overall, these statistics suggest that adopting drone delivery services can substantially impact inventory management and health outcomes for transfusing facilities in Rwanda.

With a one-way flight range of up to 24 miles, the next-generation Zip, including its payload, weighs less than 55 pounds.

The P2 drone is slightly different to the original P1 drone; whereas the P1 is a fixed-wing drone, the P2 drone has a fixed-wing and propellers for greater flexibility.

The new innovative design of the P2 will allow it to hover at over 300 feet over the delivery destination, where it will release another drone called the “droid” to deliver packages precisely in any open space with a radius of just under 2 feet.
